Six represent SeaHorse Stables at final qualifying show

Area riders head to regional on Dec. 13 in Dover, N.H.

Rollinsford, N.H — The final Interscholastic Equestrian Association qualifying horse show for SeaHorse Stables of Belfast wrapped on Saturday, Nov. 14 at Whishmaker Stables.

SeaHorse was represented by six riders, along with coach Rebecca Chernin of East Ridge Stables, on a sunny, cold morning.

For SeaHorse, Shelby Hooper, a senior at Belfast Area High School, placed second in both flat classes and third and fourth over fences.

Sylvia Lee of Damariscotta won her flat class and placed second over fences.

Allie Jones of Corinth placed fourth and fifth on the flat and sixth over fences.

Hannah Jones of Corinth placed second and fifth on the flat and fifth over fences.

Jaeden Sanborn of Kenduskeag placed third and fourth in her flat classes.

The SeaHorse Stables high school and middle school teams have qualified for the regional at Over The Oxer Equestrian on Sunday, Dec. 13 in Dover, N.H.

Heading to the regional show from SeaHorse Stables will be Shelby Hooper (over fences), Nina Miller (on the flat), Mia Rae (over fences) and Sylvia Lee (on the flat) for the high school team, while Camille-Rose Bandy (on the flat), Heidi Goodwin (over fences), Sam Kinney (over fences), Jaeden Sanborn (on the flat), Taylar Thomas (on the flat) and Addison Turner (over fences) will ride for the middle school team.

The riders will compete for individual points and one rider, to be determined, will compete to collect team points. If a rider at the regional places first or second in their division, they will move on to the national IEA show in April in Georgia.
