Gray — The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow for Knox, Waldo and Lincoln counties, in effect from 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, until 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 16.

Snow will develop across much of New Hampshire and Maine late Saturday with the heaviest snow falling overnight before tapering to flurries early Sunday. Snow accumulation of 12 to 16 inches is expected.

Temperatures will be in the 20s, and winds from the north at 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph may cause blowing snow. Snow and blowing snow will make travel difficult; visibilities may be reduced to a half mile at times.
