The Waldo County YMCA hosted its 9th Annual Harvest Luncheon for Seniors in our community on Wednesday, November 14, 2012. The Belfast Lions Club sponsored the luncheon with a monetary donation, as well providing several Lions Club members to help serve beverages. Swanlake Grocery donated turkeys, B&M Market and many individuals donated food. The Troy Howard Middle School and Belfast City Hall helped provide additional tables and chairs.

   * The Waldo County YMCA “End of the Hall Gang” jumped in from the very beginning, from slicing and dicing vegetables and preparing the turkey and hams to setting up the room.

   * The Waldo County YMCA Preschool performed a few special songs for everyone to enjoy.

   * There were approximately 170 local Seniors in attendance to enjoy this delicious home cooked meal.

   *  Nearly 70 volunteers, including Bank of America employees, Troy Howard Middle School students, Belfast Police Department, Belfast Coast Guard,  YMCA Board members and staff donating their time and talent to help prepare and serve the meal, totaling more than 240 volunteer hours.
