Fiddlers make it festive

Special Holiday Music & Art Walk Dec. 6 in downtown Belfast

Nov 22, 2019

Belfast — The Belfast Creative Coalition hosts an extra special Fiddle Music Holiday Art Walk on Friday, Dec. 6, from 5 to 7 p.m., with an invitation to dance the night away at the Flying Shoes Contra Dance immediately following.

Want a lift? The new Art Walk Celebration Bus will be available to take attendees around town to hear the Belfast Bay Fiddlers and other local musicians playing in lively local art galleries. A warm welcome awaits with hot cider, snacks, lovely melodies and gorgeous art.

Starting at the Belfast Co-op at 5 p.m. and ending at the American Legion Post #43 Hall for the Belfast Flying Shoes Dance at 7 p.m., the bus stops throughout town at 10-minute intervals at the following locations: Belfast Co-op, Upper Main Street — Post Office, Lower Main Street — Chamber of Commerce and Jon Linn's Gallery, and Waterfall Arts.

Smashing gallery openings all along the way include Waterfall Arts’ Handmade Exhibition, Local Color’s Small Arts Christmas Show, Betts Gallery’s Holiday Galleria featuring 18 local artists, and Maine Farmland Trust’s Small Works Holiday Show featuring 21 artists from all over the state. Harbor Artisans and many more will be open for holiday shopping.

Want to help decorate the new holiday art walk bus? Get festive and come by the Belfast Co-op parking lot, 123 High St., from 3 to 4:30 p.m. where the Belfast Creative Coalition will be dressing it up with greens and lights.

Last stop of the evening? The American Legion Post #43 Hall, 143 Church St. — home of the Belfast Flying Shoes Contra Dance where you can dance your socks off all night!
