Girl Scouts

On Jan. 5, Girl Scout Troop 2908 went door-to-door collecting bottles. If you were not at home, please consider calling Kris Braga at 567-3380 for a pickup. The girls are raising funds for a trip to Radio City Music Hall in New York in April to see 2Cellos. Should be a fun trip for them, so good luck!

I am back from a holiday visit to North and South Carolina to visit my two sisters. The weather in Charlotte was rain, rain and more rain, but Myrtle Beach had a small glimmer of warmth and sunshine. Now it is not the gifts exchanged with family but the time spent together making new memories that is key. I did take some lobster from Young's for a taste of Maine.

January is a month of rest and reflection after the holiday frenzy, which now seems to begin with Halloween.

Yesterday it snowed most of the day so today the trees are frosted in white and the fir trees look like they have been dusted with sugar. The sun is trying to come out, leaving areas of clouds and sun reflected in the still waters of the harbor this morning. Ducks and sea gulls float in the center of the harbor. More pop up after a dive below in search of food.

The beginning of 2019 has been fairly quiet with kids back to school and parents back to work. Wishing you peace, happiness, forgiveness and well-being throughout the year!
