Rockport — Midcoast Women’s Collective Voices series presents "Working Across the Aisle" Wednesday, Feb. 13, from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. at the Rockport Opera House, 6 Central St., co-sponsored by Rockport Public Library.

We often hear politicians calling upon their colleagues "to put away our differences and work across the aisle.” But does it ever really happen, especially in the recent years of our highly charged partisan environment? A bipartisan panel of current and past legislators who served together in the 127th and 128th legislature will share stories about doing so — including why they do it and what it takes to surmount the obstacles and get the job done.

The featured storytellers are Rep. Pinny Beebe-Center (D-Rockland); Sen. Erin Herbig (D-Belfast); and the Honorable Ellie Espling and Joyce Maker. The one-hour storytelling event will be followed by Q&A moderated by Pam Maus, co-founder of Midcoast Women.

Midcoast Women provides opportunities for local women of all ages to find and strengthen our individual and shared voices. The Collective Voices series is free and open to the public.
