SRLT Speaker Series

Talk focuses on patterns of brook trout Feb. 13

Feb 04, 2019

Unity — Sebasticook Regional Land Trust's monthly speaker series features a talk on fish patterns — the presence, absence and abundance — of fish, particularly brook trout, over the last 30 years in regional streams and Unity Pond.

The presentation will take place Wednesday, Feb. 13, at 6:30 p.m., at 93 Main Coffee Shop in Unity.

Under the tutelage of regional fish biologist Dave Potter, Unity College’s Fisheries Techniques Class has monitored regional fish assemblages for several decades.

Data collection continues to the present day, and it informs new explorations and hypotheses about patterns in the fishes of this region. The talk will also highlight the ecology and biology of select species to help emphasize the importance of preserving the unique aquatic ecosystems of this region.

All are welcome. Admission is free; a $5 donation is suggested. Light refreshments will be served. In event of inclement weather or for further information, call 948-3766.
