Nov 26, 2012
“Sun's Bonnet” is a sculptural  wall hanging by Karen Meisenheimer, one of three local artists show at The Office during Belfast’s First Friday Art Walks.

Belfast — The Office Gallery, located downtown at 17 Main St., invites the public to A Holiday Art Gala and Taste of Lower Main Street during the year’s final downtown First Friday Art Walk Dec. 7 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Belfast artists Ben Hall, Karen Meisenheimer and Betsy Headley will exhibit their work, and three local restaurants will provide splendid samples of their fare.

Hall’s body of work ranges from pure abstraction to impressionistic realism and is expressed in several styles and media. Originally from Cincinnati, where he graduated from the Antonelli Institute of Commercial Art, Hall resides in Searsport and freelances out of his studio (960 Studio) in downtown Belfast. For more information, call 322-8691 or visit 960studio.weebly.com.

Meisenheimer’s sculptures reflect her passion for and interest in the environment. She utilizes objects found in nature, as well as composing in clay, wood, metal, fibers and human-made recycled materials. Her artwork is exhibited at Belfast’s Lupine Gallery; for more information, visit karenmeisenheimer.com.

Headley creates images in photography, mixed media and acrylics, focusing on composition, texture, edge and color. She thrives on experimentation and is intrigued by the intricacies of nature and the everyday world. Headley is represented by the Lupine Cottage, Belfast, and Pure Maine Gallery, Blue Hill; to contact the artist, send email to betsyheadley@yahoo.com.

In addition to these artists’ paintings, sculptures and photography, tasty delights will be provided by Pig Out BBQ, Laan-Xang Café and Weathervane Seafood Restaurant.
