BELFAST — Belfast Maskers have cast and begun rehearsals for a musical adaptation of Frances Hodgson Burnett's beloved novel, "The Secret Garden". The adaptation, with book and lyrics by Marsha Norman and music by Lucy Simon, will run from July 11 through July 21 at the Basil Burwell Community Theater, 17 Court St.

Stage Director Erik Perkins and Music Director Deb Fournier are working with a fantastic cast of familiar faces and talented newcomers to the Belfast Maskers' stage. Featuring Marina Bannister (Mary), Eric Sanders (Archibald), Sarah Hughes (Lily), Walden Merkel Cutting (Colin), Chris

Hayes (Dickon), Scott Anthony Smith (Neville), Abby Spott (Martha), Maggie Machaiek (Rose), Scott Taylor (Ben), Jared Staber (Albert), Mirabelle Kutsy-Durbin (Fakir) and Veronica Stubbs (Ayah). The talented ensemble includes Jane Irish, Piper Sanders, Brynn Newsom, Jason Stubbs, Claire McConnell, Isobell Stubbs and Katie Glessner — who also stage manages. Julia Clapp will choreograph several dances for the show and musical accompaniment will be provided by Lincoln Blake, Jeff Densmore and Deb Fournier.

The creative team and production crew, overseen by producer Ando Anderson, includes Bryan Spaulding (properties and set dressing), Linda Marie (costumes), Diane Collier Wilson (hair and makeup), Bryan Hayes, Mark Durbin, Patricia Saucier and Riah Pinckney.
