Third annual Merry & Bright set for Dec. 14

Thorndike — The town's third annual seasonal celebration takes place Saturday, Dec. 14, with a free community meal at the Thorndike Town Office and the arrival of Santa Claus, who will light up the town Christmas tree.

Festivities begin at 3 p.m. with a free meal of turkey and ham, stuffing, green bean casserole, macaroni and cheese, gravy, cranberry and corn pudding.

Santa arrives at 5 p.m. to light the tree, then chat with youngsters and pose for free photos. There will be caroling with free cocoa and cookies at 6 p.m. All are welcome.

In the event of inclement weather, rescheduled to Sunday, Dec. 15.
