I hope all you mothers had a great Mother's Day. I had a wonderful brunch at Dockside in Belfast with my family.

​Condolences to the family and friends of Maxine Fowler. She was a wonderful person and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Congratulations to Tanner Grant and Logan Blood on their engagement and the upcoming birth of their son, Grayson Austin Jae Grant. I am excited.

​Knox Station Grange will be resuming their monthly grange suppers on Saturday, May 20. The May supper will be roast turkey with all the fixin's. Please support your local grange.

​The Stephen and Tabitha King grant allowed the Thorndike Volunteer Fire Department to purchase a thermal imaging camera and a digital four-gas detector. Thank you to Stephen and Tabitha King.

​Bill Isbister recently graduated from the officers training program as captain and Reggie Cunningham graduated as lieutenant of the Thorndike Volunteer Fire Department. Good job, guys.

​Laura Ingalls Wilder was quoted as saying, "A man who works hard stinks only to the ones that have nothing to do but smell."
