Remember the strawberry festival sponsored by the Freedom Grange Saturday, June 24, starting at 4 p.m. and going until 6:30 p.m. Adults $10 and children under 10, $5. They will be serving roast turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, peas, biscuits, strawberries and whipped cream. There will also be quarts of berries on sale there. See ya' there.

The 27th Old Thorndike Schools Reunion will be held at the Knox Town Office again this year. This will be on Sunday, July 9, starting with a social hour at 11 a.m., followed by a potluck lunch, business meeting and a fun auction to put money back into the scholarship fund. This will be held rain or shine.

Bring a dish to share and an auction item to put on the table. Baked beans, finger rolls and beverages will be provided by the committee. This year the past students of the Knox schools are cordially invited to join us.

The Thorndike Ladies Auxiliary will hold their next meeting on Tuesday, June 27, with refreshments at 6:30 p.m. and meeting at 7 p.m. We have some new members and would dearly love to have many more. Please stop by the Thorndike fire house on the 27th if you are interested in joining our group. For more information, please call Linda at 568-3411.

There is going to be a tax-acquired property sale in Thorndike on July 19. Sealed bids are due by noon sharp on the 18th of July. The tax map may be viewed at Bid instructions and conditions may be obtained by email to, phone 568-3655, or in person at the Thorndike Town Office.

I hope all you dads had a great Father's Day and got to enjoy the beautiful afternoon.

Thank you to Alan Sr. and Alan Jr. for moving and setting up the camper for the season. I appreciate all that you do for us. Love you both.

Kanye West was quoted as saying, "People always tell you, 'Be humble. Be humble.' When was the last time someone told you to be amazing?"
