If you have not yet paid your dog tax, there is now a $25 fee added to each dog license. This is a state-mandated fee.

Condolences are being sent to the many friends of Shirley Bessey. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

The Brooks Ladies Fellowship will be having their annual fundraising craft/antique fair on June 2, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Inside tables are $10 and outside spaces are $25 and there is a limit of two spaces inside or out. Please call Karen at 722-3056 for more information and to reserve your spaces. The deadline is April 30, or when capacity is reached. You must pay for your space in order to hold it.

I enjoyed reading Penny Picard Sampson's story of her washing machine. I, too, purchased a new machine last April and If I knew then what I know now, I would have had the old one repaired many more times at any cost. This new wonder machine has a mind of its own. I can not put in the amount of water I want or even open it up when I want to. I tried the soak cycle one day and when I went back later, the water had all drained out. I now have my Grandmother's soak tub in the shed and I can soak all the clothes I want, for as long as I want. I never believed one could hate a washing machine, but believe me, I hate my washing machine.

Thank you to Seth for stopping by on your way to work to do some shoveling, and thank you to Alan Jr. for stopping by on your way to class to help me with snow removal and with your brother. You guys are very much appreciated.

Elvis Presley was quoted as once saying, "If you let your head get too big, it'll break your neck."
