Welcome to Maine's weather roller coaster. And what a ride it has been. Sunny and nearly 60, windy, below zero and everything in between. Spring is on its way somewhere, so I have heard.

Sincere condolences are being sent to all the family and friends of Harlan Parsons. I have known him for most of my life. He was one of a kind and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, Harlan.

Dustin visited with his brother Lincoln and family recently. It sounds like a good time was had by all.

All Mount View High School parents and community members are invited for coffee, cookies, other refreshments as well, and conversation at the MVHS library Tuesday, Jan. 21, 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. Meet the superintendent, Mr. Charles Brown. New Mount View Alumni Recognition

The personal and professional accomplishments of previous Mount View graduates will encourage present-day students to reach for the stars. Nominations for the first Alumni Recognition are due at the Mount View High School office no later than Jan. 31. Anyone may make a nomination. As I am writing this and listening to the weather forecast for this weekend, I think I better start sharpening my ice skates and getting the generator filled and ready.

Have a healthy week — eat your vegetables and try to get some exercise. It not only is good for the body, but the mind as well.
