I hope you had a safe and happy New Year's. We had a very quiet one, but we still enjoyed a nice glass of champagne.
My deepest condolences are being sent to the family and many friends of Alice Porter. She was my next-door neighbor during my growing-up years. She was a very kind and caring person and will be deeply missed by her Thorndike friends.
The weather forecast sounds like we are going to be blessed with some snow. I guess that means I will get reacquainted with my shovel. Oh, well, I guess we are due.
Condolences are being sent to the family and friends of Phillip Hamlin. He used to go to the Washington School in Thorndike. He came from a large family, some of whom I have seen in recent years, although they moved away many years ago.
Have a great week and work on those New Year's resolutions.
Jan Morris is quoted as saying, "Old age is the right to be absolutely ourselves."
