Condolences to the family and friends of Elizabeth Shenett. I used to enjoy visiting with her when they lived in Knox many years ago. Rest in peace.

Condolences to the family and friends of Patricia Chekovsky. She lost her battle with a long time illness much too young. She will be lovingly missed by all who knew and loved her.

There will be a budget committee meeting at the Thorndike Town Office Wednesday, Feb. 24, 6 p.m., prior to the Selectmen's meeting to discuss the 2021 town budget.

For more information, call the Town Office. I assume it will be a virtual meeting. Contact them if you have any input.

Do not forget to contact Mount View High School at or call Vicki at 568-3782 to receive a hard copy of the requirements and application to submit nominations for the 2021 alumnae of the year.

Nominations are due by March 5, and no later.

It looks like Dustin and I will be enjoying Valentine's Day cuddled up to the wood stove. It surely has been a tad chilly as of late, and we are not promised a warm-up any time soon.

We are tired of shoveling snow from the deck, so we do not need any more of that for a while. But, as Dustin says, "It gets us outside into the fresh air."

Tallulah Bankhead is quoted as saying, "If I had to live my life again, I'd make the same mistakes, only sooner."

Have a great week, go for a walk and enjoy the birds. They are quite plentiful this time of the year.
