Sincere condolences are being sent to the family and friends of Edna Tweedie Billington. I so enjoyed the conversations we have had. She was a bright light in every room that she entered. She will be missed by all who knew her. Rest in peace, Edna.

Stephen Fowler had the misfortune to lose his home to a fire last week. I understand he has received cards, letters and offers of assistance in getting another place to live. It is such a devastating thing to have to go through. I know this community will rally around him and do all that they can to help him.

The Thorndike town meeting is still scheduled for Saturday, April 17, 9 a.m., at the Thorndike Fire House. If you need to register as a Thorndike resident, please do that before that day or before the meeting starts that day. All mask and social distancing recommendations will be followed.

The clothing box for residents of Regional School Unit 3 is still available at the Thorndike Town Office during its regular hours. Donations of gently used clothing in all sizes is very much appreciated.

Anyone given any thought to running for any of the Town Office positions? There are some that are nominated from the floor and voted on that day. If you have any questions, call the Town Office at 568-3655.

How has mud season been in your area? I know that there are some roads that I do not travel on this time of year. By listening to the scanner, you know where not to go. I wait until after June 1 before I venture forth.

Dustin and I are going to go for a walk this afternoon, if the wind doesn't drive us back inside. Fresh air is always good.

Jodi Picoult is quoted as saying, "Forgiving isn't something you do for someone else. It's something you do for yourself. It's saying, 'You're not important enough to have a stranglehold on me.' "

Have a great week, get some exercise and enjoy life.
