Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Cecil Porter. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A big thank you to all who attended and contributed to the Austin J. Grant Memorial Breakfast. Without all of you, it would not be a success. Thanks again to all.

Condolences are being sent to the family and friends of David Parsons. He will be missed by many.

There will be a hunters' supper Saturday, Nov. 10, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., at the Legion Hall on Windemere Lane in Unity. Raffle tickets will be drawn following the supper for guns and other prizes. Do not forget to purchase tickets.

Also, on Saturday, Nov. 10, there will be a hunters' breakfast at the Freedom Firehouse, 5 to 10 a.m. Fill your belly before going into the woods. I believe they are still cooking eggs to order, pancakes, bacon, sausage, hash browns, toast, baked beans, coffee and juice for a suggested donation of $7 per person.

A very happy birthday to Roy Ward on Nov. 11.

Former British Prime Minister Stanley Baldwin was quoted as saying, "Never stand between a dog and a lamppost."
