Unity Pre-K is still accepting applications for their fall program for 3 and 4 year olds. Please call 338-3827 and ask for Lori to complete an application for your child.

The Railroad scavenger hunt is on Saturday, April 20. The train will depart the Unity Station at one pm and go to the Farwell General Store in Thorndike. There will be activities, food and music on the train as well as looking for trinkets, treasures, eggs and clues to more goodies when you arrive at the Thorndike Station. Wear your Easter bonnet. Adults: $30. Children $20. For more information:

Congratulations to Clint, Christina and Christopher Spaulding on their new business in the former Yeaton's Service Station in Albion. Albion will soon be bustling again with the former H. L. Keay store opening up as a general store. Good luck to them. I am looking forward to once again shopping in Albion.

On Saturday, May 4, there will be a yard sale hosted by Thorndike Mill and Meeting Place, at the Mill from 9am until 1pm. Plants, antiques, household, books, etc to benefit the restoration project. When doing your spring cleaning, please consider donating items to this community project. You may drop off items at the Mill on April 27 and 28 or contact the Mill to arrange pick up. Please, no plastic items or clothing.

Happy Easter to every one. Our house will be a bustle of activity on Easter with an Easter egg hunt for the littles and also an intriguing one for the "big kids". After which, there will be the annual Easter brunch with all the goodies, including mimosas. Of, course, the cook will be taste testing all champagne.

Ted Williams has been quoted as saying, "Baseball is the only field of endeavor where a man can succeed three times out of ten and be considered a good performer."

Happy birthday to my sister, Donna Shute and to all the other birthdays in April. There are too many to list individually. I will quietly toast each and every one of you on your day. Yes, that included you, Taylor.

Have a great week and contact me by Thursday evening with all your Easter activities if you would like them in this column.
