Sympathy is being extended to the family of Victor Hustus. I remember when he lived in East Thorndike as a kid. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, Victor.

Sympathy is also being extended to the friends and family of Joanne Wilcox. She will be lovingly missed by all.

Papa Dixon stopped by and visited with Dustin recently and Dustin helped him celebrate his birthday.

Happy retirement to Edwin Larrabee. You have definitely earned it.

Finally some good weather and I have my garden planted at long last. Next comes the part of gardening I dislike, the weeding.

Dirigo Grange of Freedom, will host their annual strawberry festival on Saturday, June 29, 4:30 to 6 p.m. This will be $8 per person. They will be serving turkey pie, mashed potato, cranberry sauce, peas, coleslaw, biscuits and, of course, strawberries. The beverages will be lemonade and coffee. Come out and enjoy a delicious meal and support your local grange. For those that may not know, Dirigo Grange is on Route 137, Freedom village.

Joseph Conrad is quoted as saying, "Being a woman is a terribly difficult task, since it consists principally in dealing with men."

Have a great week, enjoy the warm weather and get your news items to me by Thursday evening.
