The Thorndike Bicentennial Celebration will kick off Saturday, Sept. 14, at 10 a.m. with a parade, historical displays, activities for the kiddos, live music and more. Come celebrate the past and what it has meant to you and your family.

Do not forget the annual Waldo County Triad auction Friday, Sept. 13, at Tarratine Hall, 153 Main St., Belfast. Previewing starts at 5 p.m. and the auction will begin at 5:45 p.m. Food will be available for purchase.

The Thorndike Fire Department will host an open house Saturday, Oct. 12, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be handouts for the kiddos and the Thorndike Ladies Auxiliary will serve refreshments. Please come and support your local department. More information next week.

I hope you all had a great Labor Day Weekend. We enjoyed the good weather and got some outside work done and enjoyed sitting in our new gazebo. Thank you, Chris and G.I., for all your hard work. It is very much appreciated by Dustin and me.
