Belfast — Three people involved in a crash Monday morning on Route 1 by Belfast Harbor Inn walked away with only minor injuries.

A white Scion xB driven by Katelyn Juszkiewicz, 23, of Searsport was traveling north around 10:15 a.m. with passenger Peter Cousins, 20, of Belfast when another vehicle entered her lane, according to police.

Belfast Officer Travis Spencer said a blue Toyota Prius driven by Nathan Brimmer, 42, of Machiasport was traveling south when it crossed the center line and side-swiped the Scion, causing it to leave the road.

The crash was witnessed by a third party who reported the Prius crossed the center line, Spencer said.

Both vehicles sustained significant damage. One tire completely came off the Prius and the driver's side of the Scion was rendered unusable.

No charges were immediately filed.
