Town meeting schedule

Town meetings are being rescheduled in Waldo County. Following is a list of those currently scheduled, those yet to be determined, and those held pre-shutdown; it will be updated as new information is received:

Belmont – Held in March.

Brooks – Monday, July 13, 6 p.m., at the firehouse. Voting July 14 at Town Office for selectman, Planning Board member, fire chief, road commissioner.

Burnham – Held June 27.

Frankfort – In the July 14 referendum, voters will elect a selectman and road commissioner, and decide whether to dismantle the highway department and approve a $1 million road bond. Town meeting is Saturday, July 18, 9 a.m., at the ball field.

Freedom – Election held in March.

Islesboro – Aug. 25, solely by referendum ballot.

Jackson – Held June 20.

Knox –

Liberty – Held June 27.

Lincolnville – Tuesday, July 14, solely by referendum ballot.

Monroe – Held June 15.

Montville –

Morrill – Held June 27.

Northport – Election July 14, town meeting July 16, 7 p.m., location TBD.

Palermo – Vote on RSU 12 school budget July 14, Town Office, 45 N. Palermo Road.

Prospect – No town meeting this year. Voters will decide on the budget in a referendum Aug. 21. Voting for that referendum will take place at the town hall from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Searsmont –

Searsport – Held March 7.

Stockton Springs –  Election Tuesday, July 14, Town Office downstairs; town meeting Saturday, July 18, 9 a.m., Town Office parking lot; drive-in format. Registration opens at 8 a.m. both days.

Swanville –

Thorndike – Hearing at the Town Office Tuesday, July 7, 6:30 p.m., on Article 39, Salt and Sand Shed. Referendum vote at the Town Office Tuesday, July 21, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., on borrowing $400,000 to build the shed.

Troy – No town meeting this year; operating off last year’s budget.

Unity – Election held in March.

Waldo – Saturday, July 11, 9 a.m. at the Town Hall. No breakfast meeting this year.

Winterport – Election July 14 for two council seats, assessor and a school board member. Town meeting is July 16, 7 p.m. Both are at Wagner Middle School.

RSU 3 towns (Brooks, Freedom, Jackson, Knox, Liberty, Monroe, Montville, Thorndike, Troy, Unity and Waldo) will all be voting on five at-large termed-out school board seats.
