Belfast — This year, in-person outdoor educational events of Shana Hanson's annual Tree Fodder Seminar at 3 Streams Farm will have an attendance limit of four individuals or families with two slots still open for most events, and safe social distancing protocols.

Four online events have no attendance limit, and include a Monday, June 29, pre-seminar Belfast Free Library and Zoom presentation/discussion of Food Choices (and Growing Methods!) for Climate Benefit, Monday, at 6 p.m.; Invasive Plants and Soil/Climate Remediation Monday, July 6, at 7:15 p.m.; Cliff Davis’ Spiral Ridge Permaculture/Pig & Leaf Farm presentation Zoomed from Tennessee Tuesday, July 7, at 7 p.m.; and Jeanne Calabrese’s presentation of Food Access to Native Fruits and Nuts at City Orchards Chicago, Zoomed from Illinois Friday, July 10, at 4 p.m.

Outdoor events start with a free tour of 3 Streams Farm’s pollarded woodland “air meadow” Demo Plot for climate-friendly livestock fodder production and browse, on Sunday, July 5, 8:30 to 10 a.m. The Demo Plot was created in 2018 with help of a Northeast SARE (Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education) grant. Other outdoor events range from mushroom production to tree climbing; see https:3streamsfarmbelfastme.blogspot.com Tree Fodder Seminar page for the full schedule.

Piecemeal attendance of single or multiple events is invited, so long as limited slots are not taken. Call 3 Streams Farm at 338-3301 (voicemail; no text) to register for outdoor events, and email Liane Ventura at theweeklyapothecary@gmail.com to register for Zoom events.
