Triathlon talk Feb. 8 at Waldo County YMCA

Belfast — The Waldo County YMCA will host a question-and-answer session on triathlons on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 9 a.m.

The Q&A will help local athletes take the first step toward completing a triathlon and will cover a variety of topics, including what to wear, defining “brick workout” and how to set up your transition area. There is no cost for the event.

The event is being held in preparation for the fifth annual Family Triathlon Festival, which will be Saturday, May 10 at the Waldo County YMCA. The festival will feature a 525-yard pool swim, a 12.2-mile bike ride and a 3.5-mile run, while a mini-triathlon races for children will begin in the afternoon.
