Twelve Searsport student-athletes reap PVC recognition

All-conference, all-academic honors earned by Waldo County teenagers

Searsport — The Penobscot Valley Conference unveiled its all-conference and all-academic honors for the fall and a handful of student-athletes from Searsport District High School were recognized for accomplishments on and off the pitch/course.

In boys soccer, goalie Ben Powell and defender Charlie Spiegel were first-team all-conference, while defender Daegan Moody was honorable mention. Daniel McKeon, Connor Kneeland and David Estes earned all-academic status.

In girls soccer, defender Samantha Hamblen and forward Ashten Wells were first-team all-conference, while goalie Brooklynn Alberts was an honorable mention.

In cross country, Holden Clapp was second-team all-conference, while Clapp, Devin Fairbrother and Colby Johnson collected all-academic honors.

The Viking soccer teams qualified for their respective regional tournaments, while Clapp qualified for the state Class C cross-country individual championships.
