Two airmen with ties to Waldo County have graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas.

The two U.S. Air Force enlistees are Airman Britni A. Bryant, daughter of Andrew and Carol Bryant of Knox, and Airman Tyler J. Lawler, son of Rose and Mark A. Lawler of Belfast.

The airmen completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an Associate in Applied Science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Bryant is a 2015 graduate of Mount View High School in Thorndike. Lawler is a 2012 graduate of Leilehua High School in Wahiawa, Hawaii.
