Frankfort — Two women were injured in a crash on Route 1A the afternoon of Feb. 11 in Frankfort.

Waldo County Sheriff's Office said in a press release that Amy Adriance, 40, of Winterport passed a tractor-trailer truck in her 2011 Kia, then drifted off the right side of the road. She over-corrected and crossed the center line into oncoming traffic in the southbound lane, police said, striking a 2018 Dodge pickup driven by Wendy, Fowler, 51, of Belfast.

Both women were seriously hurt, but police said their injuries are not considered life-threatening. They were taken by ambulance to the hospital in Bangor. There were no other people involved in the accident and both vehicles were totaled.

Sheriff's Deputy James Porter and Sgt. Cody Laite responded to the scene, along with personnel from Frankfort and West Frankfort fire departments and Winterport Ambulance.

Kudos to the semi driver who apparently managed to dodge this poor judgment.
