U.S. Senate candidate LaJeunesse to speak here Feb. 9

Ross LaJeunesse, candidate for the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate, will speak at Belfast Free Library Feb. 9 at 1 p.m.

Belfast — Ross LaJeunesse, candidate for U.S. Senate, will speak at the Belfast Free Library, 106 High St., Sunday, Feb. 9, at 1 p.m., at an event hosted by the Waldo County Democratic Committee. All are welcome.

LaJeunesse grew up in Biddeford and is a former Google executive. Early in his career, he worked for Sens. George Mitchell and Edward Kennedy, and later for California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The Feb. 9 event is free and open to the public, and will include a question and answer session. LaJeunesse’s presentation will be followed at 2:15 p.m. by the Waldo County Democrats’ regular monthly business meeting.

This is the third Democratic Senate candidate to speak in Waldo County in recent months. A fourth candidate, Betsy Sweet, will appear April 5 at Belfast Free Library.
