Veggies for All, working in partnership with Unity Barn Raisers, has already helped glean thousands of pounds of food so far this year. The food is being delivered to the Volunteer Regional Food Pantry, as well as senior housing and affordable housing sites in Unity. Contact Mary at programs@unitybarnraisers.org if you would like to hear about gleaning volunteer opportunities.

Wondering what to do with all that produce from your garden? MOFGA is holding an education on preserving your bounty Aug. 20 from 5 to 8 p.m. Email alibby@mofga.org for more information.

I went down to check out the weigh-in at the bass tournament held Aug. 5 at Kanokolus by the Outcast Bass Club, headed up by Jeremy Von Oesen. The large mouth bass "lunker" that was caught by Mike Welch of Belfast weighed nearly 5 1/2 pounds. The next tournament will be held Sept. 16. FMI: Jeremy Von Oesen, 649-3665
