I was driving home yesterday afternoon and I looked over to Sandy Stream and saw a bunch of Canada geese hanging out in the shallows and enjoying some beach time in the sun. I turned the car around and approached them for a picture. They obliged and posed willingly; one kept a wary eye on me though.

Thorn and Shout and Adam Nordell will be playing at 93 Main on Thursday April 18, at 7 pm.

The last election the Town of Unity had regarding the Sunday sale of alcohol was 1984. The town voted at that time for no sale of wine or "spirits" on Sundays. The State of Maine realized this just recently and we need to get it on the June ballot so that our restaurants and stores can continue to sell these libations on Sundays. We need to collect enough signatures on petitions to put it on the ballot in June. Petitions are located at the Depot, Unity Shop n Save, Mammie's, the town office, Spanky's, UHOP, and TA's. You must be a Unity resident to sign the petition.

Saturday, April 27 from 10am to noon will be town clean-up day. Meet at the Community Center. Make sure to wear long pants and bring a pair of gloves, although latex gloves will be provided along with trash bags. Light refreshments will also be available.

Unity Pre-K is accepting applications for their fall program for 3 and 4 year olds. Please call, WCAP Head Start at 338-3827, ask for Lori to complete a Head Start application.

Unity United Methodist Church invites you to join them for Holy Week: Palm Sunday (4/14) at 10am, Holy Thursday (4/18) at 6:30pm, Good Friday (4/19) at 6:30pm, Easter Sunrise Service (4/21) at 5:45am at the Gazebo (across the street from the church), Easter Fellowship Breakfast at 6:15am, and Easter Celebration of the Resurrection (4/21) at 10 am.
