Unity Town News

Thanksgiving has always been one of my favorite holidays. Growing up we would gather at Gram Picard's house and squeeze into her relatively small kitchen/dining space. I never made it to the "adult" table; one of my cousins would have a baby and my space would be taken up with a high chair. My mom would always make a slew of pies: apple, pumpkin, chocolate cream, banana cream, custard and a lemon meringue whose peaks reached for the sky. One of my favorites was the real mincemeat made with venison. For the last few years we've been gathering at my house, and again, I never made it to the grown-up table!

Happy Birthday to my dear friend Donyse (Higgins) Babin. We've known each other since our pre-skool days many many years ago. She likes to remind me that I am just a tad older than she.
