An 18-year-old woman from Unity was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Burnham Saturday night, police said.

Cheyenne Bryden was a passenger in a car driven by Shawn Judkins, also 18 and of Unity, Waldo County Sheriff Jeff Trafton said.

The vehicle was traveling south on Horseback Road near Twitchell Corner, where Horseback Road intersects Troy Road, when it rolled over and struck trees around 9:48 p.m. Saturday.

Judkins has a learner’s permit and was injured in the crash. A 16-year-old male passenger from Unity also was injured.

The two young men were taken to Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield, where Judkins was treated and released.

The 16-year-old was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor for non-life-threatening injuries, Trafton said.

Bryden was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police on Sunday were working to reconstruct the scene and will continue to investigate the cause of the crash, Trafton said.
