VFW to hold wreath ceremonies Dec. 14, rain or shine

Belfast — Belfast VFW Post 3108 will hold a wreath-laying at Grove Cemetery, Belmont Ave., Belfast, at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, followed by a wreath ceremony on the Armistice Bridge at 1 p.m. According to Jim Roberts, operations manager of the VFW post, both wreaths were donated to the post by Wreaths Across America.

At the bridge, State Sen. Erin Herbig, D-Waldo, and Belfast Mayor Eric Sanders will offer brief remarks, there will be a 21-gun salute and "Taps" will be played. The event will take place rain or shine.
