Viking boys take jaunt in Seacoast Invitational

East Sullivan — Searsport took a handful of boys to participate in the annual Seacoast Invitational on Friday, Sept. 27, a high school cross-country event hosted by Sumner.

On the 3.05-mile course, there were 25 runners in the girls varsity race and six for the junior varsity competition, as well as 43 runners in the boys varsity race and 27 for the jayvees.

GSA's Sol Lorio won the boys varsity race in 18:38 and teammate Thea Crowley bested the girls varsity field in 21:24.

The girls team scores were: Narraguagus of Harrington 27 and George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill 28.

The boys team scores were: George Stevens Academy 25, Bucksport 60, Sumner 74, Machias 96, Lee Academy 118 and Searsport no score.

The Searsport varsity boys individual results were: 23, Thomas Bradley, 23:27; 30, Ellis Braga, 24:50; 40, Eli Law, 29:36; and 43, Caleb Fairbrother, 33:13.
