Community Matters More grant competition now underway
Feb 03, 2020

In keeping with its mission to give back to the communities it serves, Bangor Savings Bank Foundation is once again soliciting community input to choose "Community Matters More" grant recipients. Voting began Feb. 1 and ends Saturday, Feb. 29, at 11:59:59 p.m.

In March, the foundation will give more than $140,000 to 55 local New England nonprofit organizations. Members of the community are invited to assist in deciding how to best distribute these funds. Cast your votes at bangor.com/community/community-matters-more.

A total of 44 grants will be awarded to the organizations listed on the ballot and to the top 11 write-in vote recipients (one per region). The top two vote-getting organizations in each region, including write-ins, will each receive $5,000. The remaining 33 organizations will each receive $1,000.

Voters may submit one online ballot with up to five votes. Votes may be for organizations on the ballot, write-ins, or a combination of both, but cannot total more than five. Votes must be for five different nonprofits. Duplicate ballots will be removed.

Voters must be Maine or New Hampshire residents.

To be eligible, write-in nominations must be for registered 501(c)(3) organizations and be open to all (nonsectarian). Write-in guidelines are posted on the website.
