The Belfast Area Chamber of Commerce has named nominees for its 60th annual Chamber Awards and now seeks votes from members and the community at large for the businesses, organizations, and/or individual(s) they think are deserving of the awards. Online voting will be open through Sunday, Oct. 25.

This year's awards will be presented for Business Growth, New Business, Hometown Heritage, Waldo County Business, Citizen of the Year, Chamber Appreciation (which is chosen by the chamber's board of directors), and a new Innovation & Adaptation Award to a chamber member who creatively took on the unique challenges of the recent pandemic in order to continue serving the community.

To view descriptions of the award categories and nominees and vote, visit the News section of the chamber website at or find the link in the chamber's weekly newsletter. To receive our weekly newsletter via email, fill out the form on the home page or email

Because of the pandemic, there will not be an in-person awards event this year, but the chamber does have plans to honor and present awards to the winners in November.
