Jul 16, 2017

Belfast — Becker's Hospital Review has released the 2017 edition of its 62 Critical Access Hospitals to Know and Waldo County General Hospital is on the list.

The critical access hospitals featured on this list have a reputation for superior service and care. All hospitals featured have 25 or fewer inpatient beds, offer emergency care and have an annual average length of stay no more than 96 hours for acute care.

To develop the list, the Becker's Healthcare editorial team examined rankings and awards from such organizations as iVantage Health Analytics, Healthgrades, National Rural Health Association, Truven Health Analytics, Women's Choice Award and Leapfrog Group. The team also considered the hospital's community impact and reputation for innovation.

"We are honored to be selected by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of the top 62 Critical Access Hospitals to Know," said Mark Fourre, MD, president and CEO of Pen Bay Medical Center and Waldo County General Hospital. “This recognition is truly a reflection of our colleagues’ dedication to providing high-quality, compassionate, patient-centered care in the Midcoast.”
