The following is a recap of recently-reported results:

Lincoln County 13, Five Town 9

At Damariscotta July 10, Lincoln County emerged victorious and punched its ticket to the championship game. Lincoln County scored nine times in the first inning and plated two more in the fourth and fifth innings, while Five Town scored two in the third, one in the fourth, four in the fifth and two in the sixth.

Leading Lincoln County at the plate were Bartrug (single, run), Tomasello (triple, 4 runs), Christian (double, 2 singles, run), Stiles (triple, single, 2 runs), Hagar (double, single, run), Harkins (double, single, run), Hallowell (single, run), Thompson (single, run) and Amaral (double, run).

Messer (2 runs, stolen base), Landry (single, 2 runs, stolen base), Brown (home run, double, 2 runs, stolen base), Reynolds (double, run), Aselton (single, 2 runs, 2 stolen bases) and Pluecker (2 singles, 2 stolen bases) led Five Town on offense.

Christian, Hagar and Tomasello pitched for Lincoln County, as the trio allowed seven hits and two walks, with seven strikeouts. Geis and Aselton pitched for Five Town, as the two allowed 14 hits and two walks, with six strikeouts.

Five Town 2, Oceanside 1

At Damariscotta July 9, a two-run single by Reynolds in the top of the fifth inning proved the difference as Five Town avenged its only loss of the tournament as it eliminated Oceanside from the tournament. Oceanside scored its lone run in the sixth.

Leading Five Town at the plate were Messer (single), Landry (2 singles, run), Brown (double, run), Reynolds (2 singles, 2 RBIs), Simonton (single), Aselton (single) and Hotchkin (single).

For Oceanside, Watkinson rapped the lone single and Fifield scored the lone run.

Watkinson and Jones pitched for Oceanside, as the two allowed nine hits and two walks, with 10 strikeouts. Brown and Aselton pitched for Five Town, as the teammates allowed one hit and two walks, with 14 strikeouts.

Oceanside nearly got on the board in the fourth when Watkinson rapped a lead single and made it to third base on an error, but Brown settled down and struck out the side — as he did and in the second and would again in the fifth — to get Five Town out of the jam.

Landry kicked off the top of the fifth for Five Town with a single and Brown reached on an error to put two runners in scoring position. That set the stage for Reynolds, who hit a two-run single through the right side of the infield to put Five Town on the board.

Fifield scored for Oceanside in the sixth to cut its deficit in half and the team got the tying run to third base — and the winning run to the plate in Butler, who hit a walk-off home run earlier in the tournament against Five Town — but grounded out as Five Town advanced in the tournament.

Waldo County 6, Lincoln County 1

At Damariscotta July 5, Waldo County bounced Lincoln County to the loser’s bracket with a five-run triumph. Waldo County scored two runs in the first, third and fifth frames, while Lincoln County’s lone run was plated in the fourth.

Leading Waldo County at the plate were Hurd (double, single, 3 runs, stolen base), Clements (single, 2 runs, 4 stolen bases) and Harriman (single).

For Lincoln County, Tomasello (single, run) and Hagar (single) paced the offense.

Stiles pitched for Lincoln County, as he allowed four hits and three walks, with 10 strikeouts. Hurd and Winslow toed the rubber on the  mound for Waldo County, as the teammates allowed two hits and no walks, with 14 strikeouts.
