Waldo County Sheriff's Department reported five speeding violations, one operating left of double yellow lines, and the following recent activity:

Dec. 1

Melissa B. Conroy, 28, of Monroe, arrested, charged with endangering the welfare of a child, operating under the influence.

Adam Wallace, 42, of Waldo, operating after suspension.

Scott Prior, 31, of Jackson, operating without a license.

Richard A. Cooksen, 56, of Waterville, failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle.

Nov. 29

Gerald L. Hartley, 47, of Freedom was traveling on Bangor Road in Unity, with Gregory Thayer Jr. as his passenger, when he struck a deer that ran into the roadway. No injuries reported.

Amanda Sweden, 27, of Bangor was traveling south on Monroe Road in Monroe when she lost control of her car on a slight curve. According to Sheriff's Deputy David Wight, Sweden was traveling too fast for the conditions and slid off the road to the left and hit a tree. Sweden's car then spun around 180 degrees and hit another tree. Wight noted in his police report that Sweden received incapacitating injuries.

Nov. 28

Garry Farrell, 74, of Verona Island hit a deer that ran into the roadway on Route 1 just north of Sandy Point Road in Stockton Springs. No injuries reported.

Nov. 27

Angela Philbrook, 33, of Unity, three counts endangering the welfare of a child.

Nov. 25

Joseph McBride, 30, of Waldo, failure to give notice of an accident by quickest means, driving to endanger, leaving the scene of a property damage crash, abandoning motor vehicle on a public way, operating after suspension, failure to maintain control of motor vehicle.
