Belfast — The Waldo County Sheriff's Office reported three inspection violations, two insurance violations, one registration violation and the following recent activity:

March 8

Michael R. Amers, 34, of Northport, disorderly conduct.

March 6

Jonathan Lawrence, 20, of Belfast, arrested and charged with driving to endanger, failing to notify of a crash by quickest means, failure to remain on scene of a crash, false attachment, violating conditions of release and operating under the influence with one prior.

According to a court affidavit, at approximately 2:20 p.m. March 6 Waldo County Sheriff Deputy Casey Ashey responded to a roll-over crash on Moosehead Trail by the Brooks golf course. According to witnesses, the driver of the truck that rolled over had gotten into an older '90s black Chevy pickup and sped off.

The black pickup was spotted traveling past the crash scene and was later stopped after a short chase. The driver of the Chevy was identified as Jacob Rose, 20, and passenger was identified as Jonathan Lawrence, the operator of the Ford Ranger that rolled over previously.

According to the court document, Rose said he and Lawrence had been "mudding" and were traveling at a high rate of speed on Route 7. Lawrence lost control after going around a corner and flipped the vehicle.

Dispatch advised police both parties were on bail. Lawrence was on a deferred disposition sentence for OUI and bail for operating after suspension because of an OUI. Lawrence was arrested and transported to jail, where a breath test indicated he had a blood alcohol level of 0.19; a blood alcohol level above 0.08 is considered too intoxicated to drive.

Rose, of Monroe, was arrested and charged with driving to endanger, violating conditions of release and failure to stop for an officer.

A May 24 court date is set at the Waldo Judicial Center.

Feb. 29

Sean Donovan, 58, of Dixmont, failure to notify owner/operator of unattended vehicle collision.

An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.
