Man arrested after Waldo stabbing

Waldo — Just before 5 a.m. this morning, police were called to Waldo County General Hospital for a 26-year-old man who had been stabbed.

The man told police he was stabbed earlier in the morning at an Old County Road residence in Waldo by Sean Sullivan, 28, who was later arrested without incident by Detective Merl Reed and Deputy James Porter. Sullivan is charged with aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon and violating conditions of release, according to a press release from Waldo County Sheriff's Office.

The victim was taken from Belfast to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center for further medical treatment. The investigation is ongoing.
