Waldo Town News

Waldo First Selectman Kathy Littlefield announces that a public hearing on the town’s marijuana moratorium will take place at the Waldo Town Hall on Monday, September 25, at 6 p.m.

Littlefield said that while the town is required by law to have a hearing on this topic, “we would have had a public hearing anyway.”

The selectmen will listen to all sides and any interested Waldo residents are invited to attend.

In The Garden

On the morning of September 15 I looked out my window at 7 a.m. to see two large doe deer grazing their way toward my garden. With the corn being harvested already it didn’t make economic sense to run the electric fence and it appears that the deer were aware of that.

Normally I would look at these intruders and tell myself that I would become better acquainted with them come the November deer-hunting season. But not being blessed with an antlerless deer permit, it appears that these unwelcomed visitors will have little to fear from me this fall.

Perchin’ Prediction

With a little over a week left in September, people should take every opportunity to get out on the water. Trout, salmon and togue are biting well now and your efforts are sure to be rewarded.
