Waterfall Arts closes, connects creatively online

Mar 18, 2020

Belfast — The galleries and office at Waterfall Arts, 256 High St., are closed through April 27 in response to the CDC guidelines and in alignment with the RSU #71 school board concerning the spread of COVID-19.

All Waterfall Arts classes, events, workshops, youth programming and drop-in open studios will be suspended for the time being. Staff will reach out to already-registered students to process refunds or communicate rescheduled dates. Note: If you are receiving private lessons from studio tenants, please contact them directly for any schedule changes or cancellations.

Staff will directly communicate with Waterfall Arts' long-term renters and studio subscribers to discuss building access/availability.

Join Waterfall Arts online at waterfallarts.org for virtual programming. The arts center knows that creativity will play an important role in keeping communities connected, evolving and healthy during this period of time. To that end, staff at Waterfall Arts are busy innovating around how to remain of service to the community even when we can't get together in person to learn, make and collaborate. The center will continue to offer inspiring content on its Facebook and Instagram pages, as well as provide resources for families with young artists at home on its "Bridge: Young Artists Connecting" Facebook page.

On the Bridge Facebook page, parents and kids can find daily prompts for drawing, Pinterest boards for simple projects, kid-safe videos, links to virtual museums, and more to keep creativity flowing and growing at home. Bridget Matros will be answering questions for parents looking for advice as well.

Should you need to contact Waterfall staff for any reason, please do so by email, using the addresses found under "About Us" at waterfallarts.org.
