WBFY screens ‘The Natural’ at Colonial

Magical realism goes to the ballpark in “The Natural,” starring Robert Redford.

Belfast — “The Natural” (1984, USA), which some claim to be best baseball movie ever made, will be screened Monday, Oct. 15, at 6:45 p.m. at the downtown  Colonial Theatre, 163 High St.

All are invited to attend and in lieu of admission, donations to support Belfast Community Radio will be gratefully accepted. In addition to the movie, a 50/50 raffle will be held, with a special prize of a $30 gift card to a Sea Dogs baseball game.

"The Natural" showing is sponsored by “Baby Boomers' Ballgame,” a program about sports from the perspective of local sports fans of a certain age. This live talk show airs on WBFY-LP Belfast Community Radio Saturdays at 10 a.m. It can be heard at 100.9 FM and also online at belfastcommunityradio.org. The show's hosts are Gerry Murphy, Phil Charbonnaire and Joe Mathieu.
