WCAP partners with USDA for free, reduced meals

Belfast — Waldo Community Action Partners announces its participation in the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program, Sponsor of Family Day Care Homes, and the Belfast Head Start Center At-Risk Child Care Program.

Meals are available at no separate charge to all enrolled participants of Head Start child day care centers without regard to race, color, national origin, age, disability, sex, gender identity, religion, reprisal, and where applicable, political beliefs, marital status, familial or parental status, sexual orientation, or all or part of an individual’s income is derived from any public assistance program, or protected genetic information in employment or in any program or activity conducted or funded by the department.

To qualify for the free meals through June 30, 2020, a family of four may make up to $33,475 per year, or $2,790 per month. For reduced-cost meals, a family of four may make up to $47,683 per year, or $3,970 per month. (To determine monthly income, multiply a weekly salary by 4.333 or bi-weekly income by 2.15.)
