WCTC students open lunchtime cafe

Waldo — Students of Waldo County Technical Center’s Culinary Arts Program are set to bring their cooking skills to the public when they open the WCTC Cafe starting Friday, Oct. 19.

The cafe will be open most Fridays for lunch from noon to 1 p.m., school schedule permitting. Seating is by reservation only.

Reservations can be made by emailing Chef Matt Maniscalco at mmaniscalco@waldotech.org. The cafe can serve up to 30 guests per meal and seats are expected to fill quickly.

Each cafe lunch will be a set menu with a starter, an entree and a dessert. The menu for Oct. 19 is butternut squash soup, vegetable stuffed shells with tomato sauce and garlic bread, and blueberry crisp.

The cost of the meal is $9 and may be paid for by cash or check only. Waldo County Technical Center is located at 1022 Waterville Road (Route 137) in Waldo.
