Many thanks  to all the workers, men, women, people from out of state, people from Maine and the Winterport Volunteer Fire Dept. for all they did to get the power restored.  It was cold and dangerous work.  Thank  you from the Winterport Town Office and many other people in Winterport.                                                                                                                             Another thank you from the Town Office and the DOT to the people who have parked their vehicles out of the way of the snowplowing efforts.                                                                                                                                   The Waldo County Humane Society will hold a free Rabies Clinic on Sat. Jan,18, in the cafeteria of the Leroy H. Smith School,  319 South Main St., Winterport from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  Rachel Emerson of Ridge Runner Veterinary Service will be administering shots.  Shots are free to pet owners residing in Waldo County.  Pets from other counties are welcome for a small fee.  Donations will be gratefully accepted.  Please bring all animals on leashes or portable pet cages.  In addition to the rabies shot, coupon discounts toward the cost of having pets spayed or neutered will be available.  For information about the clinic call 852-5033.  Check the Humane Society out on Facebook or on line at                                                                                                                        Get your dog license by Jan. 31.  A $ 25.00 late fee will be added beginning Feb. 1 2014.                                                                                                                                                       Come attend NEVAHs  "Cabin Fevah Relivah  Pas Trois"  at the Next Generation Theater in Brewer on Sat.
