Ellingwoods Corner United Methodist Church baked bean supper Sat. Oct.14, 796 Lebanon Rd (Rte 69) Winterport. 4-6 p.m. Baked beans, ham, hotdogs, cole slaw, potato salad, chop suey, breads, deserts and beverages. $8 adults, kids under 7 free. Al you can eat. Gillian French, author of Grit and The Door to January will be at the Waldo Pierce Reading Room Library Sat. Oct. 21 at 1:00 p.m. 11 A Main Road So. Frankfort.

Winterport Rec and PIE are having a Fall Festival and a Monster Mash at the Leroy H. Smith School on Sat. Oct. 21 from 12 noon to 2:00 pm. Both events are being held at the same time. There will be face painting, games, crafts, donuts on a string, pie eating contest, hay bale/ corn stalk backdrop for picture taking. We can always use volunteers to run stations set up and clean up.

The Monster Mash is sponsored by PIE. Wear your Halloween Costumes. Join us for a bewitching afternoon of Halloween games and fun. Trick or Treating in the "Haunted Forest"--Tickets $2.00. Pop corn and bottled water $1.00 each. Enjoy lunch for the whole family at the event. The "Chef on the Run" Food Truck will be there. Proceeds from the food truck goes to PIE. Trick or treat candy donations are greatly appreciated and will be accepted at the Smith School Office until Fri. Oct 20th.

Winterport Winery and Penobscot Bay Brewery Fall update. Crackling Cranberry is back for your Holiday celebrations. You know this wine is always in demand. Don't wait, pick it up early, Some other great wine and beer specials to take advantage of: Wine--Aria Sauvignon Blanc, Fancy That, Sparkling Apricot and Velvet Lace Apricot desert wine are currently on a BOGO sale while supplies last. Beer--Humble B Ginger Lager, Meadow Road Wheat Hefeweizen and Happy Camper ale are also currently on the BOGO sale while supplies last. Growler fills for the three above beers are now $6.00.

Tasting Room fall hours til Christmas. We will be closed from Oct. 29th -Nov. 15th and will reopen Fri. Nov. 16th at 11:00 am-5:00 pm. Tasting room open Fri and Sat. from 11am-5 pm through Dec 23 for your Christmas shopping.

Waldo County Triad has placed a box at the Winterport Town Office to collect new or slightly worn warm clothing for older people living in Waldo County that need it. Jackets, coats, sweaters, hats, mittens, blankets etc. Triad will pick up and distribute to people. This box is not for local people to rummage through, which has happened in the past.

Winterport Open Stage is delighted to announce its fall production: Love, Loss and What I Wore by Nora and Delia Ephron, based on the memoir of Ilene Beckerman. It is being directed by Dominick Varney and will be presented Oct. 27 and 28 and Nov.3 and 4, at 7:00 p.m.; Oct. 29 and Nov. 5th, at 3:00 p.m. Tickets available at the door only. General admission $8.00. Students and seniors $6.00.

Haunted House, Hosted by the Crooked Steeple Hall, Tues. Oct. 31, at 4 pm-- 176 Main St. Winterport. Anyone interested in helping decorate or scare the pants off people on Halloween send a message to Crooked Steeple Hall.
