School news

Fifth-grade students at the Wagner Middle went on a field trip Thursday, Sept. 20, to Star Base at the National Guard base in Bangor. An interesting trip for all.

Today, Friday, Sept. 21, students from grades 5-8 have gone to the Common Ground Fair in Unity. Another interesting trip.

WMS Field Hockey teams continue to do very well. The "A" team is undefeated, and the "B" team shows great improvement with each game.

There will be a fifth-grade parent Band Night on Tuesday, Sept. 25, starting at 6:30 p.m. This is an opportunity for the parents of the fifth-graders to rent an instrument for their students to play.

There will be no school on Sept. 27-28 because of staff in-service days.

The Wagner Pride Pack, the parent group at Wagner, has started the fall fundraiser. Students have been given packets containing catalogs from Meadow Farm Fundraising, which offers a variety of items for purchase. All proceeds go to the Wagner Pride Pack, which helps support the student body by purchasing uniforms, helping to pay for field trips and guest speakers, etc. The fundraiser runs to Oct. 5.

Food drop-off

The Silver Willow Gallery on Main Street is now a drop-off place for donations of nonperishable foods for the Neighbors Cupboard. The Winterport Library and the Winterport House of Pizza are also drop-off sites during regular business hours.
